Core360 Car Mount reviewed by Android In Canada

I’ve had a cell phone/smartphone for… well who knows how long now but one thing remains true: a good companion to a good phone is a good accessory. Whether that’s a case, a Bluetooth headset, or maybe a car mount, accessories are an integral part of the mobile phone experience and I think I may have just found my new favourite accessory. Meet the Caseco Core 360° the “World’s Smallest Universal Magnetic Mount.”

The mount really is quite ingenious in its simplicity and its compact form factor. The kit consists of a small magnetic mount that attaches to your car and a small silver ring (about the size of a quarter) that attaches to your phone or case. Both the mount and the ring feature adhesive from 3M so you shouldn’t have to worry about residual residue if/when your remove either piece. You also get a second ring for a secondary device and a second adhesive pad for the mount just in case you need to reapply it down the road.

Set up is incredibly simple. Attach the mount to your car wherever you deem best, attach the ring to your phone or case (it’s probably best to place it in the center of the device to balance it) and your done! Now when you enter your car, simply line up the silver ring to the mount and let the magnet grab onto your phone! When you’re ready to hop out of your car, easily grab your phone and go. Easy peasy!

The magnet is strong enough to keep your phone in place while driving but not so strong that it’ll damage your device in any way. The mount also features a 360° hinge so you can rotate and twist your device whichever way you need. I did find the hinge to be a tad on the stiff side and would accidentally pull my phone off while trying to rotate and twist but I suppose its better that it be a little stiff than too loose.

In all honesty, this is thee best mobile accessory I have ever used and by far the best car mount I’ve had (and I’ve gone through my fair share of them). I love the compact size and its simple yet brilliant design but, like all things, there are a couple of draw backs.

If you so choose to apply the silver ring directly to the phone then using a case becomes a little bit challenging. While many cases would likely still fit with the ring attached, you would have to remove your case each time you hopped into your car and throw it back on when you’re getting out. Not a huge nuisance but an extra step nonetheless. Now if you place the ring directly onto the case then, well, you’re kind of stuck with that case. You do get two rings in the box but if you swap cases often, you may run into some problems. You can purchase additional adhesive pads from Caseco for $6.99 (that get’s you two more ring adhesives and two mount adhesives) but then that’s just more money you’re having to invest. Speaking of money, the $44.99 price tag for the Core 360° is a tad on the high side for a car mount but after using it and loving it, it’s a price I’d be willing to pay.

Caseco Blu-Toque Bluetooth Beanie Review

Caseco Blu-Toque Bluetooth Beanie provides warmth and music on cold winter nights.

I love music. I try to take some with me everywhere I go, and it’s actually kind of rare that you don’t see me with headphones on in some form. This is the one time of year this lifestyle sort of falls short – the winter. In my part of the world, when it gets cold – it gets really cold. So, it’s hard to go out and about without covering my ears and head. Fortunately, Caseco designs a form of Bluetooth headphones that are safely concealed inside a sock hat-beanie. Honestly, when I got the chance to review it I thought, “Review a beanie…what?” Then I found it was no ordinary beanie.

Caseco Beanie

Caseco makes products that are ‘designed for life’ and made to ‘fit your lifestyle and meet the demands of your busy workday.’ And as such, they have an entire line of Bluetooth Beanies available to keep you enjoying your music, while also keeping your head and ears warm. Caseco has a unique way of delivering music to you with their built-in earphones, Bluetooth technology, and even a microphone so you can accept phone calls without removing the hat. The electronics are completely removable so that you can clean the fabric of the hat without damaging the unique nature of the Bluetooth Beanie.

Caseco actually has more than 60 styles of Bluetooth Beanies. I tested the Relaxed Chunky Cuff Blu-Toque beanie in gray. The style is very sleek and smooth, and looks like a standard beanie. The Blu-Toque beanie is universal and works with any Bluetooth device – not just your phone. The knit is made from a synthetic wool and certainly keeps you warm. The beanie charges in about 2 hours and gives you approximately 6 hours of music time.

The Blu-Toque beanie has really been a great addition to my winter weather gear this season. It connected to my phone easily and provided a excellent sound. The one thing I don’t like about this Bluetooth beanie is the cable that connects the two speakers together inside the hat. The cable is supposed to be hidden under the fold of the beanie and you can easily keep it hidden by keeping the cable under the flap, but this limits how stretchable the beanie is on your mind cap. So I’ve found, and maybe this is how it’s suppose to be, that if you pull the cable out and let it hang freely, not hidden, then you can stretch the fabric and adjust the beanie as you need. The downside there is that now the cable is visible. To me, it’s not a deal breaker though.

The Blu-Toque Bluetooth Beanie is a very nice option for listening to music on the go in the cold. It’s got a premium sound and does a great job keeping your head and ears warm.

Protect your iPhone with the Caseco Screen Patrol Tempered Glass Screen Protector

I love my iPhone. It is like a second head to me with all the appointments and notes I keep in it. The only thing is if you are not careful, you can scratch the screen or worse yet crack it. A cracked screen will cost over $100 to replace. So invest in something to protect your device like a tempered glass screen protector from Caseco.

Packaging

Screen Patrol is Caseco’s newest offering that is designed to protect you from high-energy blue light. I never knew that there was High-energy blue light and that it causes tired eyes, loss of sleep, and potentially eye damage. Kind of explained why I get sleepy when I am just on my phone working or checking new feeds. See Caseco is teaching us something!

Contents

The above photo is everything you receive in the box. It comes with a Alcohol prep pad, cleaning cloth, 2 home buttons, screen, a mini card to help work out air bubbles and instructions. To install was very easy as you just clean the screen with the provided cloth. Pull the backing off the screen without touching it. Align up and press in place. Use the little card to help work out air bubbles if needed.

Foam Sleeve

Let’s talk about the screen. It is 0.33mm thick which gives you a barely-there feel. Also, the screen protector is scratch resisent so if you have it in your purse with your keys, it will not scratch! Ladies, we know all to well how our nails can make scratches in the screens and it is not pretty!

Now, I can tell you for a fact that this screen protector will save your phone!

Protector Damage

You see that crack, if I had not had on the Caseco Screen Protector then that would have been a shattered screen. I was on our deck and kids being kids, they knocked my phone out of my hand. It landed screen down straight on a pile of rocks and needless to say, my heart dropped! But, I am so grateful that I had the screen protector on because it saved my phone!

The Caseco Screen Patrol is very affordable at just $29.95. If you go into a retail store you will pay over $45 for a screen protector and I promise you, it will not hold up to the standards of Caseco.

The one great thing is Caseco can be your one stop shop for all your technology driven needs. They have cases, screen protectors, chargers and so much more for the iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Blackberry, Google Nexus and even LG. So head on over and check them out!

TuneZip Review

tzvictor2Earbuds are meant to deliver audio in an accurate, and supposedly a portable way. Most companies tend to focus moreover on audio rather than portability, but a Canadian company known as Caseco is here to change things with their new earbuds, the Caseco TuneZip. The name of these earbuds describe their unique functionality, which is being able to zip up the two cables, providing astonishing portability. Furthermore, the cable of these earbuds are engineered to provide you with a tangle free experience. I mean, I literally had these earbuds sitting in my pockets for hours, and when I was ready to use them, they still weren’t tangled. Moving on, the TuneZip provides an enjoyable listening experience with great comfort. In addition, the built-in volume slider is very distinct. Instead of adjusting the volume from your phone, it’s instead adjusted from the ear-buds themselves, meaning it will work every time. In conclusion this is a great pair of earbuds compared to some of the higher end competitors.

Shock Express Review

nexus-5-seI got my Caseco Shock Express about 4 weeks back. I got it simply because I liked the color, as every other case in stores was black. Over the next couple weeks I was amazed at the abuse that the case took. I drop my phone very frequently, on pretty much every kind of surface – pavement, concrete, tiles, hardwood, etc. – and it survives undamaged every time. The back of the case is made of thick glossy plastic which is very sturdy but it does pick up scratches after a long period of use. I feel the price is reasonable too so I just get a new one whenever I think it’s too scratched and then I can change it up with a different colour. In the end, the protection this case gives far outweighs the negatives of the scratches. Caseco also seems to have resolved a few issues I noticed with the other Nexus 5 cases. On previous cases, the rubber around the screen would start to peel or flake after a few months but that hasn’t happened to my Caseco Nexus 5 case yet. So although it still gets scratches, I see improvements over other competing cases. Overall, this is an awesome case that provides excellent protection without as much bulk as other Nexus 5 cases.
